Besides consulting the doctor and using prescribed treatment there are various other ways in which you can treat Conjunctivitis.

  • Warm or cold compress

    A warm or cold compress helps reduce the swelling, irritation and provides great relief. Use a cold compress, if the infection is caused by an allergy and use a warm compress if the infection is caused by infection. Use the compress for not more than 3-4 times a day and make sure you keep a gap in between.

  • Aloe Vera Gel

    Aloe Vera gel is known for its cooling, relaxing, antiviral and antibacterial properties. The same properties work wonders while suffering from pink eye. It also helps in inflammation. All you need to do is take Aloe Vera gel and gently massage it on the eyes.

  • Take Rest

    While suffering from Conjunctivitis, your eyes will feel strained. Make sure you give your eyes as much as rest as possible. Avoid exposing your eyes to digital screens and excessive sun exposure.

  1. It is important to keep your hands clean at all times, because no matter how hard we try we end up touching our eyes with our hands.
  2. If you are going swimming or if you know that your eyes are going to be exposed to irritants, then make sure you always cover your eyes.
