How to eat healthy in spite of a busy schedule


Most people use their “Busy schedules’’ as an excuse to get away with eating unhealthy. There is no denying that between the 9am – 5pm work life, social life and a good night sleep, one cannot really squeeze in time to prioritize their meals. However, it is extremely important that we do not take our health for granted. After all, at the end of the day it all comes down to our Bread and Butter. A healthy diet is essential if you want to keep diseases at bay.

Here are a few ways in which you can eat healthy in spite of a hectic schedule :-

  • Never skip healthy breakfast

    Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and you shall never miss it come what may. When you are asleep, your body is said to be in “fasting” mode and having a morning meal helps you break the fast. You can opt for breakfast options like Oats, Idli, Scrambled eggs or Muesli. These meals are easy to prepare, healthy and tasty.

  • Encourage healthy snacking

    Besides the major meals of the day, most people also experience midday food cravings. In such cases, people reach for unhealthy options like biscuits, chips, aerated drinks, etc. While these foods cater to your cravings, they do no good for your health. Opt for healthy snacking options like dark chocolates, mixed fruits, assorted nuts and protein bars.

  • Swear by liquid elixirs

    Water is a life saver, it is extremely important to stay hydrated at all times. However, besides water consuming other fruits and vegetable juices can work wonders. Not only do they help you stay refreshed and hydrated, but also add to your health quotient greatly. Fruit and vegetable juices are loaded with fiber, minerals and vitamins.

    Healthy shakes, smoothies and juices are great options, especially when you are on the go. Make sure you at least consume one glass of juice, smoothie or shake.

  • Bid adios to junk food

    If you want to have a healthy diet, then you must bid adios to junk food for good. If you really crave for junk food, then make sure you wait for your cheat day. Junk food is not only unhealthy, but has also a negative impact on a person’s overall lifestyle.

    If you can’t do without junk food, then you can opt for healthy junk food options. For example, you can opt for foods like brown bread burgers, low fat cheese foods, etc.

  • Relish your food

    Between all the hustle, we truly fail to relish our food. Eating your food quickly, without really relishing it can affect your digestive system. On the other hand chewing your food well can improve the digestion process and prevent you from feeling lazy.
