Everybody wants to happy and a lot to times we search happiness in the wrong places and that is why we never find it and end up with nothing but disappointment and emptiness. To be or not to be happy is your choice. An orphan kid finds happiness in a worn and torn 2nd hand teddy bear while other kids will crib if you give them an IPhone 7 instead of IPhone 7 plus.
Here are a few tips that can help you have a happy life.
- Love yourself
It is very important to love yourself. We all have flaws and it is normal because nobody is perfect. Learn to embrace and accept yourself with your flaws. Spend some alone time so that you can be comfortable in your own skin. If you are comfortable in your own skin and love yourself than there is nothing that can stop you and no matter what people say it will never affect you.
- Make peace with your past
We all have our share of our mistakes and come with our own share of baggage but this baggage shouldn’t stop us from the things that we love to do. They say people who laugh the loudest have often cried the loudest behind closed doors. Learn to embrace your scares, your scars help you empathize with people and act as a reminder of all the things you have been through and have emerged stronger than ever.
- Non Judgmental attitude
Be non-Judgmental, There is a reason why the people are the way they are. We have no right to judge people for the decisions that they take. Everyone walks a different path and we have no say over it. As they say you need to walk in one’s shoes to know what they have been through. Being non-judgmental will help you make peace with a lot of things.
- Get rid of toxic people
It doesn’t matter if it’s your childhood friend, work mate, neighbor or a relative. You need to get rid of toxic people. Such people will not live their life and will not let you live your life as well. You don’t need to feel guilty for getting rid of such people. Surround yourself with positive people as they will be like a breath of fresh air.
- Say good bye to gossip
Nothing good ever comes from gossip, while it can keep you entertained for a while, it is just a waste of time and is an extremely toxic practice. Rather than gossiping with people, have some deep intense talk with them that will help you know them better and will also increase our knowledge.
- Let go
It is very important to let go of grudges. If someone has done something wrong to you wish them good as they must have pain inside them. Wish them healing. I know it is easier said than done, but trust me there is nothing like it when you put this theory into practice. It helps you let go of your anger and pain and helps you to find peace.
- Find your happiness in small things
Life isn’t defined by big moments only, sometimes the smallest things can give you immense happiness. Try to find happiness in small things and one day you will look back and realize how big these small things were. Finding joy in the ordinary will make you feel extra ordinary.
- Stop worrying about things that you can’t change
Life doesn’t go as per our plan and that is one fixed principle. We all expect things to go our way and when it doesn’t, hell breaks loose and we all get panic attacks. Rather than worrying we need to think of how to deal with the current situation. We all know the famous saying “When life gives you lemon, make lemonades”.
Gratitude is something that we all need to practice. Gratitude basically means being grateful for all the things that you have. There are people who are better off than us while some are not as fortunate as us. Look and people who are better off than you and aspire to be like them but also look at people who are not as fortunate as you. This will help you to be grateful for what you have and will make you crib less. You can also keep a gratitude journal and write down all the things that you are grateful for and look at it every time you feel low.
- Do things that make you happy
We all are passionate about something or the other, but in the race of being the best and finding the right job to meet our needs, we neglected the small things that would help us find our solace. It can be anything music, writing, drawing, dancing, cooking, etc. Spend few minutes a day doing the things you love and watch how the world becomes a better place to live in.
